I made this during my initial visit to Shanghai. It was my first impression of this city. The golden color represents Shanghai's future. The cars sweeping onto one of its freeways symbolize the rapid growth of one of the most dynamic cities in the world. Where would we be without automobiles and freeways in these modern times? The sun casts an eerie light upon a monochromatic scene, accenting the somber mood of the moment in time.
