There is something about a picnic on a sunny afternoon that heightens and focuses the senses. Breezes are warm, fruit is sweet and time stands still in the moments between the longing for, and the attainment of, the object of desire. Garlic, they say, is an aphrodisiac. What could be more appealing than embracing the apple-of-your-eye in nature's splendor. We can almost feel the warmth of the sun as it casts a golden hue on the delicately illustrated fruit. The oddly placed garlic pot appears almost smug with its cocked cork stopper. This is an intriguing and humorous study.
