Vigilance
Title: Vigilance
Artist: Alan Kindler
Original: chalk pastels on
Mi-Tientes paper 2004 $1,500.00
The price of freedom is
eternal vigilance. Was Thomas Jefferson referring to the oranges? Soft and
vulnerable—nestled in the safety of the ceramic bowl, as the knife watches and
waits. The skin of the orange is tough and leathery, yet all too easily yields
the soft juice of its flesh. A sensuous passion play in color and light, this
study of impending conflict reveals the power of the still life to make us see
that there is always more than meets the eye.
