As a child living in Oklahoma City, OK, Jeran
Binning watched his mother paint with watercolors. Her use of color and space
now influences the way he applies oils to his canvases, allowing the colors
and space to interplay in a delicate balance of shapes and contrast.
Jeran now lives in San Diego,
CA, where he attended Arts College International. His inspiration is derived
from the works of Adolph Gottlieb and Mark Rothko. He is enthused by
presenting color in layers, juxtaposed by white and open space. Mr. Binning
served in the US Navy for twenty years. He has worked as a consultant and
teacher.
He is currently a professor at
the Defense Acquisition University in San Diego, where he teaches Program
Management. As an undergraduate, he worked in the drama department at
Southeastern Oklahoma State University. His graduate education includes an MBA
from George Washington University. He has also attended executive business
programs at the University of Virginia, Stanford and Harvard.
