Jim Reeves is a multi-talented contemporary artist
living in Southern California. His work is a fusion of styles influenced by
Mexican Surrealism and Asian Abstraction. A highly prolific and versatile
artist that is not constrained by any particular medium. His works are varied
and take the form of paintings, sculptures, collage, photography and
assemblage all with his unique techniques that add meaning and emotion.
Reeves holds a Bachelors degree
in literature and film studies, is a self-taught artist, and a highly
decorated Persian Gulf war veteran. His works are influenced by current events
as well as his historical knowledge of culture and often result in art works
with a global influence of both past and present.
Reeves' style and varied mediums
are thought provoking and evocative and result in subtle metaphors drawn from
his past and present experiences. The results are often unexpected and
beautiful at the same time and will evoke different and very personal emotions
in its viewers.
